Francis Tatem grew up in Kensington, MD just outside Washington, DC. In 2006 he enrolled as a photojournalism major in Ohio University's School of Visual Communication. In addition to majoring in Photojournalsim, Francis holds a specialization in environmental science. Through his photography Francis explores the important issues related to humans and their complex relationship with the natural world.

His innate curiosity and passion for everything visual drives his work. Utilizing both still imagery and multi-media Francis documents the world through his unique point of view.If his hands aren't holding camera they are likely planted firmly on the handlebars of one of his favorite bikes. Look for Francis pedaling anywhere dirt or pavement can be found.
